I am happy to share that we will soon launch the hiring process for a permanent Vice President of Academic Affairs. I have received confirmation from our District Office HR partners that Mr. Scott Schulz will not be returning to GCC. We wish him all the best.
Over the next few weeks, we will engage a hiring firm to manage a nationwide search. I will also be convening a hiring committee, chaired by a representative from each of the following: GCC faculty senate, GCC department chairs, and a current permanent VPAA from one of our MCCCD sister colleges.
It goes without saying how important this position is to GCC as we strive to achieve our mission through exceptional teaching and learning. On behalf of the GCC community, I am extremely hopeful about this opportunity to hire a permanent VPAA who will work collaboratively across the college to both support and grow our academic programs.
