Congratulations to Lisa Stuck, GCC Women’s Volleyball Coach, for being named Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) DII Volleyball Coach of the Year. The honor was voted on by all of the head volleyball coaches at the end-of-season conference meeting. This is the seventh time that Coach Stuck has won this prestigious award.
In addition to ACCAC Coach of the Year, Lisa has earned the following; National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Coaches Hall of Fame Inductee, NJCAA National Championship Coach of the Tournament, NJCAA District I Coach of the Year eight times, and two-time winner of the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Southwest Region Coach of the Year.
Coach Stuck has been coaching women’s volleyball for over 35 years, with 27 seasons at Glendale Community College. Spanning her coaching career she has 27 winning seasons, eight NJCAA Region I Championships, one NJCAA DII National Championship and seven ACCAC Conference Championships.
Throughout her career Coach Stuck has had tremendous success in coaching student athletes. When asked about her winning formula, she stated, “It is all about recruiting the 'right' kids that fit the culture and philosophy.” She added, “It is critical that they are passionate, competitive and athletic.”

Coach Stuck knows that academic success is just as important as athletic development. GCC is fortunate to have Lisa on our coaching staff.
Glendale Community College has 14 men’s and women’s sports teams in addition to a Spirit Line and eSports. In proud Gaucho tradition, GCC teams have won numerous conference, regional and national championships, including many student-athletes achieving championship rings. The GCC athletic department focuses on academic success as well, with many student-athletes being named Academic All-Americans. The average GPA for GCC student-athletes is 3.20.
Glendale Community College provides 41 associate degrees, 61 certificate programs, and a range of non-degree offerings, all available to students in traditional, online and hybrid formats. Founded in 1965 to serve the northwestern part of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, the college is part of the Maricopa County Community Colleges District, has two campuses and enrolls approximately 26,000 students annually, and employs approximately 1,000 resident faculty, staff, and administrators with an operational budget of $83 million.
