The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) has bestowed a $10,000 matching grant to Glendale Community College. The grant stipulates that GCC needs to raise $10,000 in matching funds in order to fully unlock the NACCE Grant. The money will go to GCC’s Achieve Fund, which provides financial support for the Business & IT department and Innovation Challenge program.
“The Innovation Challenge is a dynamic, interdisciplinary program designed to foster entrepreneurial thinking, creative problem-solving, and real-world business and technology application among our students. Our goal is to empower students with the tools, confidence, and experience to turn innovative ideas into actionable ventures, while also strengthening our local economy through workforce development and entrepreneurial growth.” Stated Tiffany Hernandez, Ph.D., J.D., President of Glendale Community College.
The Development team at GCC is working to raise the $10,000 in matching funds and is hoping to reach potential non-donors and new community partners who care about innovation, student entrepreneurship, and workforce development.
Dr Hernandez further commented, “This $10,000 from NACCE will allow us to scale our impact, particularly by increasing access to underserved and underrepresented student populations. We deeply appreciate NACCE’s continued investment in GCC and entrepreneurial education. We are committed to advancing the goals of this grant with measurable outcomes and sustained community engagement.”
